h

are all letters of our abc's important?....or at least equally so?

i asked my roommates for one letter; i wanted to see if i could write a full entry about a given topic and not use said letter. next, i asked for a specific topic for my go at it. let's give 'er a go...

idūs martias
in classical times, 15 days after february's end all romans celebrated a festival dedicated to mars. as per tradition, a military parade stepped across cities.

originally (or etymologically), ides refered to full moon day and was an auspicious day. interestingly, over time its meaning evolved. in roman times, it was used four times a year to refer to 15 days after february idūs martias, 15 days after april's end idūs maius, 15 days after june's end idūs iulius, and 15 days after september's idūs october.

in modern times, people use it specifically to refer to julius caesar's end. on 03-15, 44 bc, julius caesar was assassinated.

nowadays, in popular culture people use it in more comical ways, or media--music, stage, cinema, etc.

i would say i succeeded. finding a way to write about an infamous date sans using one letter in particular can be arduous but stimulating.

next letter...?

ic extraneus sum

Interesting challenge, you most certainly succeeded and I learned something in the process :P
Let's see you omit one of the proper vowels next time, your choice ;)
