only the lonely

th.e other night i saw i love you, man at th.e show with eskje. it was funny and enjoyable. one group of characters stood out for me and my roomie though...more so for her really. not even main characters. supporting characters. eskje made th.e following parallel:

zooey: the engaged eskje
denise: the married tjaad
hailey: the single me

not that th.e statuses match us exactly. rather, th.e dynamics between the characters are what captured eskje's eye. to paraphrase--at best...

scene - zooey's fiancé (th.e movie's main character) finds a man-friend.

zooey: you found a friend?! that's great
denise: good for you!
hailey: you have a boyfriend...and i don't.
denise: why is it always about you?
hailey: because i'm single.

part of me wants to laugh at this parallel, but another part of me wants to help eskje to a face-full of fist. do i act that way? b'wha? no... sure the single life isn't th.e greatest, but i don't rain on people's parades. i love parades (i have to. culture dictates and all...)

all joking aside--and i know that she only meant it in jest--it's still ferstrating to realise that these jokes can be made only reminds me of my relationshiplessness. bachelorhood is great for all th.e crazy nights, wild sex, no-commitments and other related myths; but th.e caelibātus life is getting old...fast.

wow...maybe i am hailey. n-g.

frak.

my time will come. fuck that shit.

frak.

...yeah, yeah, yeah, hic extraneus sum or whatever... i'm single, so it is all about me.

life is mysterious... one day you'll meet someone and you'll realize why it was never meant to work out with anyone else before

I agree with Dave... Dave. Perhaps the forces of fate are sparing you the masses of mean and warty frogs out there in favour of one true match that will show when least expected?
However in the meantime if your celabaetus (spelling?) starts to make you tweak, one night of lustful actions won't kill ya ;)
