yesterday was a day of awe.some.
prinz and i slept in, which is becoming more of a luxury than a usual happen.stance. aft.er yummy home.made griddle.cakes made by prinz-merci!-we dared the gauntlet that is the high.way. into the belly of the best that is hog.town we drove, heading toward the TCAF (toronto comic art festival). i'm not huge.ly into comics, but i like some things as does prinz. also, the day be.fore a friend wrote me that a certain artist/blogger/stalkee of mine would be there again this year. i almost fell to the ground and half want.ed to smack her when she said that she had met him. so, that was incentive enou.gh for me.
with two hours till closing, we arrive.d and made our way in. it was really a cool spot, with loads of awesome art and works. i spent half my money within the first 15 minutes there, i'm sure. what can i say; i love language and there were these awesome books on idiom.s drawn out in tim burton-esque style. très cool.
prinz and i and commander (afore.mention.ed friend) made our way through the mad.ness, stopping here and there, spending more money there and here. finally, teased by the both of them about meeting him, there sat the rex piratorum.
again, i feel i should clarify that i'm not actually a stalker. really, i'm not. i'm more of an avid reader of his blog and patron of his work. yes, i've followed his blog (ergo his life?) for many years, and know his work, and where he lives (not my fault, he write about it.) and, yes, granted, at one point when i was in edin.burgh i read that he was too and i might have read that he was attending certain shows during the fringe festival, and i might have bought tickets to the same shows. still, not a stalker. my tickets were a week before his unbeknownst to me at the time. still, not a stalker.
okay, it may seem a bit strange, but it's not. that's what the interweb is for, n'est-ce pas?
anyway, back to the story or yesterday. i said hello, and introduce my prinz; he already know commander. we chatted for a bit about his work, and i bought some things too. he's much taller IRL than i had imagined, but that just goes to show that i'm not a stalker, non? a stalker would have known his dimen.sions. and it was fun sign.ing in two different languages here and there.
in all honest.y, i know this entry may read a bit queer, but all stalker-nonstalker tones aside, it was a great day. the fest.ival was awe.some and prinz and i will most likely be back again next year. pirate king's work really is well done and enjoyable, and with a great back story. i very much suggest you check him out.
that is that for maintenant...
