wŏ shì hén hăo…

this is the summer of random suspenders. yes, random suspenders. a friend and i so named it to reflect the decision to do things that make us happy, at random.

and, suspenders came up in that conversation and got mixed in for good measure.

so, i’ve decided to take on mandarin this summer with another of my friends. i haven’t taken a spoken language class in a while, and i had forgotten how much like a movie it really is. everyone takes a turn trying to pronounce the sounds and tones, whilst everyone else tries to quietly say them too, but does so overly loud and no one actually hears the instructor… good times.

obviously i’m on track to become fluent. you see, yesterday was my first 2.5-hour class or four. yup, four class/10 hours to become fluent in a language. with tones. And sounds I can’t hardly make.
