somnolence…
had to set my phone alarm to go off (on silent/vibrate) in 30-minute intervals to keep me awake…or at least to make sure i didn’t nod off for more than half and hour at a time. i’m notorious for snoring.
none of this would be an issue—i love midday naps—except that i’m not so much chez moi and therefore should refrain from the zzzing, lest i want to be poor.
although my sleeping habits should be steadied and brought up to healthy standards in duration and routine, i don’t know if they are the reason for my somnolence. i’ve started a month-long cleanse to rid my body of a going-on-two-month-long cold. cough cough. sniffle. frak. i’ve tried tea. i’ve done the stay-home-and-rest thing. i’ve eaten bowls of chicken noodle soup. i’ve even forked out the money for sleepfx (it must work for others…). alas, i cough and cough. frak.
the next 30 days (…vingt-huit en actualité) will be interesting. i don’t foresee too much discomfort. i cleansed over the summer; that was hard. too much sunlight in the daytime to keep me out and about with friends or on solitary walks enjoying the city and travelling…and eating. cleanses, you might know, dictate what you [don’t] eat. i’m hoping that with the sun setting at noon, being busy with both school back up for another semester and work i won’t hardly notice the amounts of food i’m [not] eating.
good things come to those who wait
i reeeaaaalllly hope that means lasagne.
a big mult-layered lasagne.
gawd i love lasagne.
now i lasagne. frak.
frak.

mmix
another year :: another blog posting.
one for one. good times. i really should know by now, but every year i’m surprised at “how fast the year went by”… as if I expect those threehundredandsomenumber days to go by any more slowly than the year before (leap years accounted for, bien sûr). resolutions made (and shortly thereafter forgotten…the minor [read drunkenly slurred at 12:10am] ones) and a new drive for life thrown into gear. look out mmix, i’ve got you by the tail and am holding on for dear life. this is gonna be a fun ride…
a friend of mine keeps a blog. his is more regularly updated than mine, so i won’t give you the link for fear of losing my fellow readership.
right, because my readership consists of him, eh. here you have it d-cam.
tous ceux et celles qui ont déjà lu mes entrées savent que j’ai l’habitude d’écrire en plus qu’une langue. étant linguiste et interprète (à l’étude), j’aime bien tout ce qui est relié aux langues, au langage et à la linguistique.
with that written, i end with the word of the year. 2008 was the international year of languages (a GREAT year); 2009 is the international year of astronomy. let's see what's in the stars for me this year.
